Remote Telemetry & Data Policy
Effective date: September 22, 2026
Overview
StillWatt LLC deploys remote telemetry systems on every Mobile BESS Service unit. These systems collect operational data from the battery, inverter, solar array, propane backup, and output circuits throughout each service engagement. This policy explains what data is collected, why it is collected, how it is used, and how long it is retained.
What We Collect
Our telemetry systems collect the following categories of operational data from each deployed unit.
Battery system: State of charge (%), cell voltage, pack temperature, charge/discharge current, cycle count, and fault codes.
Inverter and output circuits: AC output voltage, output current, real power (kW), apparent power (kVA), power factor, cumulative energy delivered (kWh), and circuit-level fault events.
Solar array: Array voltage, array current, solar harvest (kWh), and charge controller status.
Propane backup: Generator run status, runtime hours, fuel level (where sensor-equipped), and auto-start events.
Environmental: Enclosure internal temperature, ambient temperature (where sensor-equipped), and door/access events.
Service metadata: Unit identifier, deployment site identifier (non-address), service order number, deployment start and end timestamps, and firmware version.
We do not collect GPS coordinates, street addresses, or any personally identifiable information about end users or site personnel through telemetry systems.
Why We Collect It
Telemetry data is collected for the following operational purposes.
Service delivery: Real-time monitoring of state of charge, output power, and kWh consumption against the contracted service envelope. Alerts at 80% and 90% of the contracted kWh budget are generated from this data.
Safety and fault response: Detection of over-temperature conditions, over-current events, inverter faults, and battery management system alerts. Fault data enables remote diagnosis and, where necessary, dispatch for on-site intervention.
Propane backup coordination: Auto-start events and runtime data are used to track fuel consumption and schedule refueling without requiring customer involvement.
Service verification: Cumulative kWh delivered and output circuit data are used to verify service delivery against contracted terms and to generate service records.
Equipment health: Battery cycle data, cell voltage variance, and temperature history are used to assess unit health, schedule preventive maintenance, and inform retirement decisions.
Continuous improvement: Aggregated, anonymized operational data is used to improve service envelope specifications, refine kWh budget estimates, and develop future service tiers.
How Data Is Used
Telemetry data is used exclusively by StillWatt for the purposes described above. We do not sell telemetry data to third parties. We do not use telemetry data for advertising or marketing profiling.
Service records: A summary of kWh delivered, peak output, and any fault events is included in the post-deployment service record provided to the customer upon request.
Aggregated analysis: We may use aggregated, anonymized data across multiple deployments to analyze fleet performance, improve service specifications, and develop internal operational benchmarks. No individual deployment is identifiable in aggregated analysis.
Legal and safety obligations: We may disclose telemetry data if required by law, court order, or regulatory authority, or if disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of persons or property.
Customer Data Access
Customers may request a copy of the telemetry data recorded during their service engagement. Requests should be submitted in writing to [email protected] with the service order number. We will provide a summary report within ten (10) business days of a verified request.
Customers do not have direct access to the telemetry platform, remote monitoring dashboards, or raw data streams during or after a deployment. All monitoring is conducted by StillWatt personnel only.
Data Retention
Raw telemetry data is retained for twenty-four (24) months from the end of the service engagement to which it relates. After this period, raw data is deleted or irreversibly anonymized.
Aggregated, anonymized operational data derived from telemetry may be retained indefinitely for fleet analysis and service development purposes.
Service records (summary reports provided to customers) are retained for seven (7) years in accordance with standard business record-keeping practices.
Data Security
Telemetry data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS 1.2 or higher) between deployed units and our monitoring infrastructure. Data at rest is stored on access-controlled systems. Access to raw telemetry data is limited to StillWatt personnel with a legitimate operational need.
We maintain reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect telemetry data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No transmission or storage system is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-Party Service Providers
We may use third-party software platforms to host, transmit, or analyze telemetry data. Any such providers are bound by data processing agreements that restrict their use of the data to the services they provide to StillWatt. We do not authorize third-party providers to use telemetry data for their own purposes.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our telemetry systems, data practices, or legal obligations. Material changes will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of StillWatt services after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
